A polished portfolio of twelve strong pieces attracts more paying clients than ten thousand followers and a scattered feed. Focus your niche — hyper-realistic charcoal portraits, for example — and produce work so consistent that a stranger can guess who made it in three seconds. That recognizability is what turns viewers into buyers.

Step 4: Learn the boring 20%

Contracts. Deposits. Reference-photo agreements. Shipping. Taxes. Client communication templates. This is the part no one teaches, and it is the reason so many talented artists never earn a living. Spend a weekend building these systems once, and reuse them for the rest of your career.
